Piece by Piece

A friend left a puzzle for me at my front door.  For weeks the picture of a golden lab diving into water after his red and purple ball stared back at me.

Yesterday I opened the box. I thought, “A puzzle and a fork in a road have a lot in common.”  I started to sort all the pieces; borders, shapes, and shades of color with a picture to guide me.

Like a fork in road we may have a vision of where we want to go, or we may have pieces of what we would like to create.

As I worked on the puzzle some pieces seemed to fit with ease but later, I would come to find out though very close it was the wrong place.  When I went to remove it, I had to be careful not to cause any collateral damage.

I noticed when I stepped away from the puzzle I would come back and instantly see how pieces fit together.

The puzzle propelled me forward moment by moment, piece by piece, as does life. It always moves forward no matter what kind of circumstance may halt us.

It comforts me at this fork in the road to know I don’t have to have all the answers and there is power in seeing pieces of what is possible and trusting in the benevolent guidance that leads me and that is available to us all.

Together we create.

Love,

Louisa
