Not for the Faint of Heart

January 7, 2020

Do you ever have your Facebook memories pop up at the exact right time?

Today my memory was a quote from Oprah, “The only courage you ever need is the courage to live your heart’s desire.”

I received it on a morning when I needed a boost of encouragement.

The root of the word courage is cor, the Latin word for heart.  To follow your passions, fight for your life, and never give up on your dreams is not for the faint of heart.

It takes standing in your power, and not letting the circumstances around you take you off course.   And the reality is you’re going to be taken off course because you’re human.  Your feelings, your failings and the fragility of life will get your attention.

In those times it’s important to reach out for help.  Let people remind you who you are in the midst of your circumstance. Let them encourage you.  In this 2020 decade the lone ranger days of the last ten years are behind us.  Now more than ever we need each other.

Many of you I first met through the “Rising Above Adversity” series and I have received emails and messages how these weekly posts have encouraged you through rough patches and new embarkings.

In that spirit I will continue to post weekly. Your courage gives me courage to keep going stay the course and do the work; the personal, the physical, the spiritual, whatever is needed to live my heart’s desire.

Together we connect and rise,

Louisa
